Avoiding Joint Pain

Careless Consumption can do some serious damage.

1. Vitamin K

Your best approach to combat aches and pains is to consume food high in Vitamin K, such as green leafy vegetables like Kale and Celery.

The “Chiller B’s”

  • Beets, Blueberries, Broccoli, and Bok Choy
    • “Cool Down” inflamed areas
  • Ginger, Turmeric, Pineapple, and Coconut Oil all have anti-inflammatory properties as well.
    • Throw these into a Protein Shake with omega-3-rich flax or chia seeds!

2. Snack Attack

  • AVOID Commercial Baked Goods!
    • These goods often contain corn oil, which has high omega-6 fatty acid content
      • Unlike its cousin omega-3 fatty acid, omega-6 causes inflammation
  • AVOID Fried and Heavily Processed Foods! 
    • Many frozen dinners have high fat and sodium content, which can trigger inflammation
    • So, if U are craving something crunchy, reach for walnuts instead of potato chips!

Sweet baked goods, candies and especially sodas are basically sugar delivery systems. 

Just remember: The momentary pleasure a cookie provides can result in joint pain that lingers long after that last bite!
