Understanding U

Dehydration

Not getting enough water is a common reason your head may start to hurt

  1. When U are dehydrated your brain doesn’t get enough blood volume, so it may send out pain signals in response to this lack of fluids
  2. Aim to drink 64 ounces of water daily or more
  3. Your hydration status can sabotage your workout if U are not careful
    •  A person’s core temperature rises as a result of exercise, but if U are not sufficiently hydrated before a workout U will not be able to sweat as much
      • That means your core temperature will rise more rapidly
        • U will experience muscle fatigue, loss of coordination, decreased energy, and decreased athletic performance
